Just havin' a little fun. I'm my own best audience unfortunately.i dont doubt u, but how does tightening my ebrake cable make my truck faster?

Before you start messing with the brake pads, tell us exactly what you did to the cable. Is it tight? Does the cable under the truck move when you step on the e-brake pedal? Grab the end of each cable that goes from the equalizer into the backing plate and give it a couple tugs....does it move?
There IS supposed to be a return spring in the setup in the picture I posted above, but it's missing in that pic.

alright, i tightened down the equalizer, and when the brake is up, it has a TINY bit of slack, id said 1/8 inch from the little see saw thing, to the nut. when i press the e brake, and get back under the truck, the lines are as tight as they can be, theres no moving them at ALL. i take it this is how it should be. i will grab the little hoses that go into the backing plate that are the ebrake cables and see what they do. btw, is there any chance u know what rear end my truck has? its a 1972 short wheel base with a 302 in it. its three on the tree.
