Front differential locker locked in "Free"

As it says, I just bought the truck, and was playing with it tonight.

I found that the driver's side front differential locker moves fine, but the passenger's side one is locked in the "Free" position, it wonn't move at all. Is there something in there that can cause it to hang up, or is that an indication of something wrong in the differential?

Water rusted up the parts. You are going to have to take it down probably to see what is really going on with the selector.

For anybody who reads this in the future looking for info, the cam inside the hub had worn detents into the cap, which is what locked it in the "Free" position. The rest of the hub worked as it should, and it could be locked by backing off the screws on the cap to allow room to turn the cap.
