Re: 70 Custom--It's HOME
Sweet work Jerry.
Thought on the rear axle vent I learned the hard way, (from it getting clogged by "mud daubers/dirt daubers nesting in the open rubber hose our trucks come with) is to run extra hose up to the bottom of the bed area then back downwards and add a filtered vent, (many of them made in 3/8" hose configs).
For our newer members...
If you need some inspiration on your build by all means stop and look at what Jerry started with here!
Taking a cab from the rusted our floorpans and cab mounts to this stage is not impossible, (and look at the end results here)!

Re: 70 Custom--It's HOME
Well it seems to be harder than it needs to be but, progress is the Ultimate goal So in the midst of doing my brake lines and getting things in place. I decided to do my steering (grant) wheel and get my column set... so everything (booster&MC)could get the tighten up.
http://www.fordification.com/forum/view ... =5&t=96649 A big to Chris for the help
Although I'm not happy with the gap.... I was at least able to get my column set(Hoping to get a deeper Grant cover) and tighten up the main bracket and everything on the firewall. In the process of getting the holes drilled through the floor for my shifting linkage and E brake cable. Replaced my power steering lines

Re: 70 Custom--It's HOME
Great work on the wheel! Thanks for the update.
In regard to the question you sent me about the E-brake cable:
Overall length = 80-1/8" tip to tip of cable ends. The ends stick out a little past the balls on the end. Inside to inside of balls = 79.25" Balls are 3/8" diameter. Here's a pic of the hole in the floor pan. Now that I've found that, I realize the cable would have had to come up through the cab mount.

Re: 70 Custom--It's HOME
Well the cable showed up and I had some time, so this happened
So I was able to get the back disc cable work done according to NPD #s... it's the right spring ... I seem to recall it being a little longer

Re: 70 Custom--It's HOME
Well I'm glad I sent the carpet back, think I found a better one at OCC. and it's ordered. So I decided to get all the holes through the floor taken care of this wknd. New bucket seat mount holes, shifting linkage and of course shifter & boot
Also had some time to dig through my "Goodies" inventory.... not sure I'll be using all of it but, till the Project's done

Looking good Jerry! I love...the sound proofing/insulation! I did a patchwork job on BC#16 and it even helped with the Florida heat and road noise tremendously! You'll love that barrier on your drive down the road here to Florida for vacation LOL!
Did you go with the Stang' buckets or aftermarket? What brackets do they bolt right in?

Re: 70 Custom--It's HOME
Last weekend I got my New(2nd try) carpet installed around the different penetrations. It's a little loose on a "Perfect Fit" but, overall not bad
Working with a local guy on my seats... so I kinda stalled the direction I was headed in the cab. So this wknd I decide to mock up the front clip and get some parts bolted for good.
Probably will put the hood, valances, maybe grill before, I disassemble (again ) for blocking & paintingYou do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.
