Shift Rod C-Clips

Post by jaderose »

Has anyone ever replaced one of these with a C-Clip or an E-ring? 68 F100 3OTT

I have. Got an E-clip from the parts store. Harder to put on though. Gotta compress the rubber bushings quite a bit. I used 2 pair of small vise grips, one on either side to squeeze, compress and hold the rubber bushing while I installed the E-clip. Same principle works installing the stock clip in your link.

I’ve had mine pop off on multiple occasions. I plan on seeing if I can drill drill a small hole in the rod and use a cotter pin when I finally get mine reassembled.
