dust shields
Hello fellow Ford truck lovers
I'm finally getting around to doing the disc brake swap on my 1971. Found a 79 donor truck and have everything except the dust shields which were no good. Anyone know if they reproduce them or of a good place to find NOS or if anything else will fit. Buy the way it's 2 wheel drive.

Re: dust shields
Anybody know what the difference is in a '76-'79 4x4 dust shield vs the 2wd? Those appear readily available.

I have some from a 73 that I would let go. I have no idea if they would work.
Let me know if you want them.

Re: dust shields
I was wondering about the difference between the 4X4 and 2wd dust shields myself. Must be some difference but maybe you could make them work.
any one out there tried it?

Re: dust shields
Yea I'm pretty sure that the 73 dust shields will work on a 79. I sent you a private message. Let me know what you want and if they are in decent shape.
They are for 2wd F100 or 150 right?

Re: dust shields
The obvious differences are that the 4x4 has a much larger center hole and 5 vs 3 mounting holes.
It might be possible to make an adapter but you’d have to try it, I would be likely to try another 2 wd application first though...

Re: dust shields
Robert, (DuckRyder) is spot on here guys as I owned a 76' early Bronco, (same axle tube) for some 20+ years and dissasembled it too many times to count for maintenance."DuckRyder"The obvious differences are that the 4x4 has a much larger center hole and 5 vs 3 mounting holes.

Re: dust shields
The 73 and maybe 74 dust shields HAS NO Vent in them as where the later ones has a vent on the dust shield to keep the brake rotors cool 4x4 and 2 wheel WILL not interchange

Re: dust shields
Thanks for that info Flash1. Must of made an engineering change sometime early in the 73 -79 models. Do you know if the 73 will sill still bolt on a 79?

Re: dust shields
Hey Booyaa138 I sent you another PM with my email. Flash1 posted that the 73 model dust shields didn't have a vent like the later models but as long as they bolt on I would still be interested.
