I have a 1974 F250 with 360 motor. Does the AC compressor mount vertically or horizontally?
Most pictures show it with the head to the right, horizontally but mine is mounted
with the head and hoses up or vertically. Is there a correct way. Truck has always been
this way, Thanks.......

Re: AC Compressor Mounting
This is a '70 but probably mounted the same in '74. Sorry for the poor photo, the original link is broken.

Re: AC Compressor Mounting
Mine is mounted vertically with a factory support brace going to the exhaust manifold.

I think in 73' and on you probably saw more of them mounted the same way since Ford had full integrated A/C systems introduced that year. But 72 and older there were so many flavors of mounting brackets around depending on what company was making them.
