Whistling noise

Post by jp2005 »

Has anyone experienced a whistling noise when pressing the gas pedal into the higher rpms. Sounds like the build up pressure from intake for the transmission to shift to higher gear if that makes sense. Just curious if theres way to quiet it. Researching first bc God knows I've learned my lesson for messing with parts that are working haha

Sounds like a vacuum leak somewhere. Does it do it any time it revs (even in park or neutral), or just while driving?

The autolite 2100 has a natural tendency to make a whistling noise under acceleration. But if this is something out of the oridinary for your truck then I would agree with vacuum leak being the first thing to check out.

Do you have the emissions air pump on it? That was the culprit on my inline-6.
