Need to replace cracked manifold and rotten pipes in my 68 F-100 4x4 w/ FE and manual transmission. Given the price of replacement manifolds and the fact that this truck already has "upgraded" stock heads and 4bbl intake, I feel headers would be a better choice than the restrictive factory logs. I understand from my reading through past posts that the Sanderson FF427 mid-length headers are probably the best choice for fitment in my truck, but for various reasons I probably won't be giving them my money in the near future. Possibly down the road after I get a new engine and get it broken in, but can't wait that long to fix the exhaust.
Browsing eBay I see where the Chinese companies seem to be making knockoffs of the FF427 now. Claim to be stainless steel and have 3/8 header flanges. Now I get that those claims may be dubious, but for my needs I think the reality would still be adequate. I get that they may not (probably won't) last a decade, but even the guy from Sanderson I spoke with said most people use a temporary exhaust while breaking in a new engine. My temporary is just going to be a little longer.

Mostly just wandering if anyone here has used the eBay headers, and how they fit?

Re: eBay FE Headers
Very attractive price. But I would consider them a temporary solution. Just can't imagine for that price that they'll fit without problems or last very long. You never know though. Might be the deal of the century.
I considered some cheaper headers but in the end went with the Sanderson's (although at the time I couldn't afford the ceramic versions). I got the bare steel and painted them with VHT high temp paint. I'm glad I spent the money on the Sanderson's. They fit absolutely great. And no leaks at all. Excellent quality. I hope at some point to step up the the ceramic coated one's.
If you do pull the trigger on the Ebay one's please post up what you think of them and how they fit
