Very helpful detail...I swapped coil for new...no change...peeled back the electrical tape to free the light brown? wire from the fw in cab and it was pink...either age or heat caused it to become light brown ...do see the dark brown that goes to solenoid ....so ohms on pink wire was 1.1...my leads add 2ohms...had forgotten to factor that...the red/green was 0 ohms...wire from pink and brown to coil ...then checked the ohms of new pink wire...also gave 1.1 but decided to splice in anyways....

It worked but I am baffled since old and new pink both gave 1.1 ohms....
Old pink gave 12v coil and 12v dist cap
New pink gives 12v coil and 6.5 dist cap

Also, does the pink feed anything else?
I did not remove tape and free the entire wire just snipped and replaced

Very thankful!

Pink wire only feeds ignition. Could have been heating up when current applied. Heat creates more resistance reducing your voltage to the coil further. Regardless...she runs now! Congratulations. 8)
