Hi,
I have a 1969 F100 4x4, currently with a 360 FE and a 4 speed. this engine is NOT original to my truck. I bought the truck with this engine in, plus newer Dana 44 w/ discs & power steering. the 360 has issues. and I'm not in love with it anyway. I'm researching a Coyote swap
but I don't want to have an automatic transmission. I contacted MARS in Ohio, ( lsswap.parts) They suggested an F150 Gen II engine, a ZF 5 Transmission from a 5.4 Superduty F250, and the Transfer Case to match. I like the idea of getting an OD transmission with a 5th gear, and getting a 2 speed T case too. The NP 435 / Dana 21 combination is ok, but needs another gear on the highway.
so
Has anyone here got any experience swapping in a Coyote into a 4x4 application?
or any experience putting a ZF5 onto a Coyote?
thanks
Please don't try to convince me to build up an FE. I 've researched the life out of that already.

Re: Coyote Swap into 4x4
From experience, the cab structure isn't strong enough to support a hydraulic clutch master cylinder. I installed an extra rib and it still flexed too much to live a long happy life. I was most of the way through installing a IDI 6.9l diesel and ZF5 trans in my F-250 before the Cummins fell into my lap. One other note is I needed to lift the cab 1.5" to clear the bell housing.
