Re: 72 F100 aka The Hog Hauler
Hey guys,
Since the last update I took on the mustang tank swap and just been putting miles on it. Getting ready to swap rearends for a dentside one and start collecting parts for a front disc swap. I took the truck out the guy I bought it from and he was more than tickled to see the old truck again he told me he never thought he'd see it running down the road. Every time I go out there he stares at it sitting in his driveway telling me stories about it and everyone in the area rembers the truck even my junkyard guy down the road from his place . This is probably the most for filling project truck I've ever done its deffentally not the prettiest truck in the world but its deffentally my favirote cause of the history and the old farmers reaction made the whole thing worth while....according to the old owner and his family im a miricle worker. Here's some pictures of it I'm hoping to find a bed with the same faded out color to put on it and keep it the way it is. I've also set my sights on a new project truck as long as I can get the money gathered up for it before it goes to the crusher.
The mustang tank
My later model F150 seat with lumber new flake shift knob and extension from a truck stop and new headliner and behind the seat I have a custom made sub box with 2 6x9's and a place for 2 10" subs and amp.
Hopfully my next project 69 F350 motorhome its all there I'm planning on making it into a ramp back truck to haul scrap and future projects
This what I wanna turn it into

Re: 72 F100 aka The Hog Hauler
Hey guys. Cant believe its been 5 years since I last updated about the project. Since last time I spent the next few years driving it then the clutch went and it spent the last 2 or 3 years sitting behind dads. While it was sitting a guy I met and became friends with gave me an 86 F350 Crewcab 4x4 so that kept me from working on it but in the last few months I've been back on the 72 getting it ready to put back on the road.
How it sat
Swapping out the 3.00 gears for some 3.70
Junkyard M5R2 swap
The 2 things that kept me side tracked from the truck so long.

These things are an addiction. Did you ever build the scrap/ramp truck?

Re: 72 F100 aka The Hog Hauler
Didnt take any pictures but over the weekend I did radius arm bushings again and while I was under there did the piviot bushings as well. Still got some bugs to work out but Ive been sneaking it to work every now and then about 15 miles one way. Curious to see what kind of mpg it'll get...has to be better than the 6-7 my crewcab gets
