I would like to clarify my request for info on my 427 side oiler
P1010674.JPG

Location generally on right front side of block has no numbers i.e C5AE etc. and casting indicates nothing was ground off. (picture)
Left front side 13 dif
Left side casting date ??14 Picture
left front (driver side) 64 352
side rear either side nothing
Lifter chamber has 427 26 Picture
My picture files are too large will follow up

Thanks for the response First there is no whole number the flatter area where the casting number should be never had
a number. The surface of the metal is the same as the surrounding block and has obviously not been ground off. There are
no numbers or markings on the rear left or right side. Picture of date code did not come thru but all that is readible is the
??14.
427 and 26 on inside lifter gallery.
Has anyone seen a block with no numbers?

How many motor mount holes on the sides of the block ...

And am I seeing a plug in that lifter galley?

Upon further review of your pictures

Should have 4 motor mount holes on either side

should also have provisions for a hydraulic cam

Looks like that is a 1969 or later block with the 2 dots under the first digit in the date code

Thanks for the reply
It has 4 motor mount holes per side. What and exactly where are the two
dots on the date?

Look at the first digit on the date code

It has 2 dots below it ..They look to be attached to the digit but are not

The sand probably shifted when the block was cast making the digit mottled

The 2 dots represent the second decade in the production of the FE blocks

The FE was first produced in the late 50's and continued into the 70's

Oh that looks nice! (Both the Cobra and the Truck burnout)

I believe I am going to move this to the engine forum because there is some good info here even though it is OT to original Ford trucks.

Do feel free to put some more pictures of that car in General or a new intro in the Welcome Mat. :wel:
