1970 360 exhaust routing pic?

Post by redstone65 »

Does anyone have a picture of correct, stock exhaust routing for a 360? Looking at the schematic, it looks like the drivers side exhaust loops under the oil pan or something. Can't tell what I'm looking at.

The one I just pulled out was pure, booger-welded craziness.

Thanks Busboy. The one I just cut out was routed behind the trans, under the tail housing. They didn't leave enough room to actually mate it to the manifolds though. So, out it came.

Yeah that's definitely a cobble job. I buy new header pipes from Napa or Summit.

Thanks for the advice. I think I found the parts:

Passenger side (main): https://www.napaonline.com/en/p/EXT40516

Driver side (crossover): https://www.napaonline.com/en/p/EXT42371

The new engine is from a 74 and has the ribbed exhaust manifolds. NAPA's site says the crossover pipe won't fit a 74. But, they look like the ports line up the same as the block style manifolds from the old engine (70 model). Is that right?

Those are definitely the part numbers that i have used on two projects, a 67 and a 72. I think the chassis is the issue not the engine as far as year model.
