Carb spacer for a uremco 7-7297a on a 360cc

Post by Redsurfer777 »

Hi,
I have an 1970 f250 camper special with a 360cc v8. After it warms up I have a hard time starting and I wanted to put a carb spacer on because my carb gets hot hot hot. But I can’t find what one would fit best. Is it just any 2bbr carb spacer?
Thanks

So it seems a uremco 7-7297a is just a remanufactured stock carb.

That being said a spacer for a 2100 or 2150 2v carb should work.

Does your truck have a factory water heated spacer under the carb?

I found that later f100s used an insulator gasket that is around 1/8-1/4". I think the part number is 60716. You can JUST fit one between the stock hot water spacer and carb with factory carb studs. I also rerouted my heater hoses to bypass the spacer to keep my carb from boiling.
Depending on what problems you are having you may not need to do this.
Keep in mind that while the autolite 2100 shares the bolt pattern with the Holley 2300, there is a slight difference in the base flange, making some Holley pattern spacers not seal an autolite. Check before you buy/install.

If it is a stock carb then you might try this spacer.

I haven't put mine on yet but I was given this info and the Ford part number which crosses over to this gasket.
