Hey, guys. I've had my 1970 F100 for several years now and had the transmission rebuilt a couple of years ago.
I just bought a new (to me) house with a nice garage that I'm setting up and adding a few tools.
With all that, I'd like to start doing my own work on the F100. I'm very much a novice at car repair, but would like to get better.
So, here I am.
My only real issue is that the truck stalls very reliably at stop lights or any situation in which I'm not giving it gas. If I have enough distance and I'm not on a hill, I can usually keep it running by throwing it in neutral and revving it as I coast to a stop. It runs pretty decent otherwise.
I've just replaced the air filter, but this didn't have any affect on the problem.
I took it into a shop I trust this morning and they said they can't really help me due to parts availability and no-one in the shop with any real experience with older vehicles. They suggested that I have a couple of small leaks (distributor and fuel pump, I think) and that it *might* need points adjusted.
So, does anyone have any further input before I jump into trying to replace parts myself until I find a fix?
Thanks in advance!

Welcome!
I'm gonna throw a lot at ya;
What is your RPM at idle?
Can you get a vacuum reading at or near idle?
What is the timing set at?
Have you checked the idle mixture screw adjustment?
Could be a vacuum leak around the carburetor.
Need a little more info....
