Late model engine swap

Post by Nappy22 »

I’m looking at swapping my 302/c4 with a 5.0/ AOD out of a ‘86 Crown Vic into my ‘71 F100. I think this will be an easy sratight forward swap, but wondering on info on aftermarket evicc and also how to best address fuel issue with a high pressure pump. Can anyone please give some input.

Give Pro M a look. That's where my money is going. As far as I'm concerned, the best Ford based engine management system there is.

For your trans, You should upgrade from the B servo to the A+ servo for stronger 3rd and OD holding ability in a truck. There is the C servo that came in i6 and v6 cars, then the b servo that came in V8 cars and some vans and trucks. Then the A servo that came in Thunderbird super coups and 92-93 trucks and vans. C is weakest, b is stronger but still blah, A is the best. But factory A servos are hard to find. Thankfully After market has A+ servos that are stronger than the much sought after A servo. Here is a link for you. http://www.tciauto.com/tc/aod-overdrive-jumbo-servohtml I hope that helps. :)
1968 F100 Took the running 390 out, and installed a Built 300 with AOD.
