Here is picture I just took of the crank. The main caps are number 1-4 C2AE and the rod caps have different numbers like CF29 and C6AE. Didn't see any other numbers.

It doesn't matte if you're in a valve relief or not, as long as you stay in the same spot with your measuring stick at TDC and BDC.

Take a look here to see a picture of the location of numbers. Also, shows what the numbers mean. Look on the 3rd counter weight.

Thank you Lee. I have done all of that. As you can see in the picture I provided of my crank, the numbers from Ford that are supposed to be there on the third counterweight from the front aren't there. It appears that area was milled out and someone stamped what looks to be an R there instead. Perhaps that means re-manufactured, I don't know.
