Oil Drain Mess
Someone please tell me there is a better way to drain the oil on my 390 instead of letting run all over the engine crossmember ?!

Aluminum foil or old sheet oven pan bent up strategically.

Re: Oil Drain Mess
So it would have to catch it then redirect the oil to the rear. I even thought of putting a funnel there and using a rubber hose, the problem is there is no way to meter the draining oil.Ranchero50 wrote:Aluminum foil or old sheet oven pan bent up strategically.

Re: Oil Drain Mess
Get a Fumoto oil drain valve and put a piece of hose on it long enough to get past the edge of the cross member......best thing I ever did........

Re: Oil Drain Mess
Another vote for the Fumoto valve. I put them on all my vehicles, and also on a generator engine that I maintain for my in-laws, and I have been very happy with them.

Re: Oil Drain Mess
First time I used aluminum foil worked ok, second time I tried to rig a funnel and it was a mess. Love the Fumoto valve. There is one downside though, I have to drain the oil another time without it!

Re: Oil Drain Mess
Attach a shop vac to the valve cover where you put the oil in,turn it on and you can remove the drain plug whithout losing the oil in the pan. Then install the new valve and then next oil change,no mess.Gnick4 wrote:First time I used aluminum foil worked ok, second time I tried to rig a funnel and it was a mess. Love the Fumoto valve.
