Willy: If it doesn't show up in your parts stash that came with the truck, there's a good chance Gary may have one on one of the parts trucks he picked up for his Crewcab. Let me know, and if need be, I'll set up a road trip;)

Thanks James, I did find a strap not to sure it's the right one but could be made to work. I have another issue, with the dual exhaust run the way it was ( not sure it could be run different) has presented a problem with the under cab tank to where it will need to sit back about 4". The skid plate fits fine because it sits lower but the tank has only about an inch clearance enough for a heat shield I think, if I leave it back the 4". Questions that come to mind, do I really need the extra tank, would it make any difference to another buyer. The box isn't painted yet so I can make the necessary changes either way, what to do...opinions???

I did do something constructive today , I got my door seals installed. Went well I thought , wife thought I was a little stressed as I gave her instructions????

BOY YOU BEEN MOVING!!! I missed out a little bit this thing is coming along great. The Hood fixes great! The cotter pins yep they stink... As for the dual second tank i would say you should try to hold it. I'm going thru mayhem for a second tank and alot do. As the truck had it, and it was mostly there heck go for it!! Keep up the great work!!!

Thanks Manny, it's too cold here to do anything but stay inside -31C today. So it allows me to putts on the truck in the garage that's heated!
As for the tank I won't ever be putting in that much fuel as it would go bad before I used it but I get your point on just having it there, may appeal to the new owner down the road.
I'm trying to get all the little things completed before I tackle the electrical, want to start and complete that all in one go.

I'm pretty sure the exhaust should go under the oil pan to the passenger side. That tank makes header installs 'fun'. There are diagrams under the main site in the tech area showing the routing. Personally I'd rather have the frame tank and ditch the cab tank. Once you get to using this truck you'll realize there's just no room inside. Eventually I'll install a '90's F150 frame tank (it's smaller vs. our bump tank) and just go with that. I couldn't use the bump tank because it ran into the 47RH Dodge trans.

Oh yeah, I did the door seals with two packs of clothes pins. Worked OK but I still have dimples in the seal where the pins were... Door seals and getting the heater cables routed so they'd slide smoothly were two of the hardest parts of bringing mine back. Neither worked out as well as I'd like.

I’d put the tank in and reroute the exhaust...

You can run both pipes down one side if need be (or merge them into one larger pipe...

Great ideas for sure but my exhaust is all new and run in away that looks clean so I wont be touching that. I get that with these engines the need for more fuel capacity but this will not be a daily driver. In saying that and the fact this is a camper special I will get this tank installed so it will be usable but just not in the original spot. Sliding it back a few inches will make it work I think and look almost right!

I did get the under cab tank in with the skid plate mounted...but not until a little body work on the tank to allow it to fit 4" inches back. I now need to build the heat shield for the exhaust and then plumb it all in to the tank selector switch and run cab tank line as well. It went from -25C to 2C from yesterday to today.....feels like spring!!

Hey Willy,

This is such a great thread for so many reasons! Learning a lot about stuff I'll need to install on my build. Also, I'm vaguely aware of the history of this truck - my buddy had a 67 mustang being built by the same builder that cheated your PO out of a bunch of money. He was suggesting that I buy it when it came up on Kijiji, but you must have snatched it before I had the chance.

I'm not sure if my buddy and your PO took this "builder" to court individually, but my buddy did get some court-ordered repayment, along with the ability to go back and retrieve his mustang.

Looking forward to keeping up with your progress!

I haven't had a chance to fallow closely your build but your making some good progress Willy! Hopefully you can continue to fit in some work as weather permits! I cant wait to see your truck finished; it's going to be amazing!
