Ford C^ Overdrive

Hi all,

I have a C6 tranny that has overdrive, it doesn't have anything special attached to it, my question is, I have been reading that Ford never made a C6 with overdrive, if I have a C6 tranny that jumps into overdrive when I floor it then where did it come from?

Are you sure that's overdrive? The C6 has a shift-down lever; when you floor it, the C6 downshifts to second so you have some oomph for passing.

oooh that makes more sense. For a C6, overdrive would mean a fourth gear. But down shifting into passing gear is not the same as overdrive. I recall being confused with that sort of terminology when I was younger.
