I was cleaning my exhaust manifolds today, in preparation for installing on my rebuild, and noticed that the studs going to the exhaust system need replacing. Any pointers on how to remove them? Also, does anyone know where I can find replacements? I'm not finding anything through google. I guess I'll have to check LMC.

Napa has them. Double nut them or use a small pipe wrench.

Double nuts yes and then you need to soak crazy!! a propane torch or a true torch heating the area around the stud will help.. good luck they are a treat!

Re: Replacing Studs on Exhaust Manifolds?
I got 'em! I soaked with the acetone/ATF mixture, then used a pipe wrench to grab in. Once they started moving, they came out fine. The threads on the manifolds were surprisingly clean. I was afraid that they would have rusted away over the last 50 years. Now I just have to find and install new studs.
Thanks, everyone!
