Thanks Duck, this may not be possible but how do you mean “droning"
Reverberation, resonance... inside the vehicle. Might be less noticeable on a truck.

I have found a lot of guys on this site use cheap headers. Maybe it's a truck thing, I don't know. I do know this: Hooker quality is not up to par on my Cyclone. They will be replaced with FPA tri Y headers.
My F100 will also be getting FPAs http://www.fordpowertrain.com/fpaindex/FordTruck1.htm

Thanks HIO Silver, I just breezed over your build link and saw you chose a set of Sanderson headers. Any issues with starter access or power steering gearbox clearance? Also I just went to the Summit website and searched for Magnaflows for a 69' 390 and didn't find any. I would appreciate a PN, as my searching abilities suck LOL
No issues with the starter or steering box. Starter can be removed/replaced without undoing headers.... that's why I chose em. Headers are PN FF427.

Concur with sound subjectivity.... go to a cars n coffee or a meet-up and listen to what rolls in... then talk to the owner for info on the combo.
