1967 F100 4x4 352 V8 oil pan
I have a 1967 F100 4x4 with 352 V8 oil pan that the dipstick holder leaks where it attaches to the oil pan. I dropped the pan to assess the situation, and the dipstick holder fits in snugly into a reinforced slot in the oil pan, but I can't imagine that is supposed to create a good seal so the oil does not come out. How is that attached in the factory, or am I supposed to just coat this thing with gasket sealer, put it back together and hope for the best? See attached photos.

Just a thought as I have not dealt with this issue but I would clean it real good with muriatic acid and then either solder it in place with plumbing solder or if you are not comfortable soldering then use JB weld or one of the epoxy putties

That's factory and how they were. They leak pretty often. Had to repair mine by removing the rivets. Then fresh gasket paper bolts and then seal the tube as you install the dipstick. Best way to handle the situation. One final note make certain the end of your dipstick tube is not chewed up and is smooth and not ate up. Best luck let us know!
