Speedometer Conversion

Post by idahiboy »

Has anyone done electronic speedometer conversion?
I have 1968 f250 manual transmission (np 235 and Dana T case). Old speedometer cable was manual....
I am trying to upgrade to New Vintage guages with electronic speedometer... Not sure how to get adapter into T case....

Anyone converted to electronic speedometer for these trucks? What did you use for sender?

This is a photo of the sender that came with the speedometer

Thanks for any insight!

All of the adapters are a big nut vs the smaller stock cable screw/twist on.

Advice? Pictures of anyone who has done this. The hall effect adapters all hit the nut/pto plate.... If I could just extend things out a few inches then things would fit.

It's a Dana 24

The adapter you are showing would work in the NP 205 T-Case as its a push in style with a screw to retain it compared to the threaded Dana/Spicer 24 type. I have both a 24 and 205 with cables and when I install the 205 I'll use the adapter you have pictured to mate to the original 24 speedo cable.

Dakota Digital has a kit for updating to modern gauges with a Retro Look if you are looking for a one stop shop.
