Where to get an OEM HEATER CORE ???
We have a 1972 Ford F100 longbed with 360 V8 engine, automatic. Having some difficulty finding a NEW or really nice used OEM HEATER CORE !!!
Please shed some light on this .......... Where can we get one or do we need to get ours rebuilt ? BTW, our truck has the INTEGRAL IN CAB AC unit that we believe was Dealer installed. We are looking for some guidance on the replacement of the heater core with this particular AC unit installation.
Thank you all in advance !!!

That is for the heater only box. The one for the Heat/AC unit has different inlet and outlet tubes. Here's a photo of the replacement I purchased.

Re: Where to get an OEM HEATER CORE ???
I know I'm being a lazy ass, and instead of bothering you guys (and dredging up an old thread) I should just pull the damned thing so I know for certain, but I need to change out my heater core and wondered which I have. I think I have an aftermarket a/c, but I've never researched it until today. It's a Ranger II, and I did find an old thread on Fordification from someone else who had one -

One of the benefits of living in SoCal is being able to get by with no heater for years and not dying of hypothermia out on the road somewhere, but it's getting old. Thanks to a leaky radiator on my DD, I had to give someone a ride to work in the F350 (her face was a picture when I roll up in an RV when she was expecting my other car). It was raining when I got there and I still haven't gotten around to fixing the windshield wiper that someone vandalized. Between the rain on my side of the windshield and the condensation inside, it was a challenge to see where I was going. If it's the non a/c heater core, it sounds like they're a lot easier to find - any recommendations on a good brand?

Re: Where to get an OEM HEATER CORE ???
Since it's a dealer installed A/C and you have the original heater, any parts store can get you the OEM heater only core. Spectra is the usual brand and it's acceptable.

Thank you, sargentrs. Funny you should mention Spectra - I'm sitting here staring at a box that just showed up on my doorstep with their name on it (the radiator for my daily diver).
I'll get a heater core ordered this week

Ditto, hard to say what you have going on behind the AC unit.

Hard to get behind the AC unit too. It blocks everything under the dash unfortunately. Luckily it seems to stop short of the heater box, so getting to the guts of the thing shouldn't be too much of a chore. Hopefully...Ranchero50 wrote:Ditto, hard to say what you have going on behind the AC unit.

Re: Where to get an OEM HEATER CORE ???
If you have the original heater box installed, the 94577 is not the correct one. That's for the factory AC heat/defrost unit. You want the 94572. http://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/ford ... +core,6864
