C9ZZ-9600-BB and C9ZZ-9600-S are over $100 cheaper and they come with more parts.
All are described as having aluminum scoop.
Is there a difference??
They have fiberglass parts. Base, mid-plate, etc.
The 9600-D uses all metal parts.
CJ Pony Parts has a better description on their website but I do not recommend buying from them.

I've been sidetracked with a temporary illness and other personal issues. Last Sunday I mapped out the hole location on the hood and made the first rough cut. I have the corners of the hole to finish and I have to cut back the underside hood bracing beyond the area of the scoop rubber seal. I'll get some pics up this weekend. I'm cutting my spare hood and I'll make a template from this to use on my cherry hood.

Got a little done today. I fitted the hood scoop trim ring, I'll have to modify it to fit the contour of the hood. That will be the least of my issues :)

I have to cut away the underside bracing to make room for the scoop rubber hood seal. I'll fill in the holes in the bracing with metal to tie the hood back together and make it stable.

Three day weekend, I'll get more done tomorrow.

I got a little more done on the underside of the hood today.

I just have some more work to do on the underside front edge bracing. The hood is steady and firm with no oil canning.

This is about how the scoop will look with the hood closed...

Hope your in good health...

Did you figure out how far forward the scoop needs to move in relation to the the carb?
And 2" to the left?
I think all that can be accomplished in mods to the mid-plate.
I think the three studs would have to be mounted to the mid-plate facing down through tabs on the base (nylocks from the bottom) as the existing studs will not be accessable once the scoop is moved forward and to the left.
If the scoop was only moving forward, you could probably use two factory type studs out board in the front rather than a single centered one.
If height is concerned, I found a couple articles of installing high rise aluminum intakes on mustangs with ram air to lower the air cleaner base.

I also found this

Using this idea would allow movement of scoop, but I think I'll modify a mid-plate to try and keep it looking like it could have been a factory piece. We'll see. Haha

Hi, thanks for the reply and the pics. I'm taking a break from the hood for now and am more focused on getting the bed off and over to my buddy's shop for body work. I'm going to do the cab corners once the bed is removed.
I'll try to build the offset into the base of the air cleaner once I get back to it.
