Shift Rod issue with transmission swap

Hello all, my first post on this great forum!
I have a 1966 Ford F100 6cyl, three on tree. Because of my age and physical limitations I have decided to put in power steering and automatic transmission. I found a donor 1972 F100 and have acquired a good C4 trans and steering column, pump, etc. Of all things there was no shift rod and I am having difficulty finding one. Does anyone know if any other ford vehicles of the same age have one that would work (even with minor modifications)?
Have found nothing on-line. Does anyone have experience with the Lokar units that are advertised? I have a mechanic getting ready to start the swap but I want to make sure I have the shifter rod. Appreciate any suggestions or referrals to someone that may have these.
Also how can I find the ford part number for this rod?
