360 pushrod replacement

Post by Bsauls »

Hi all,

I have a 1970 F100 with a 360. I was replacing the intake manifold and noticed a bent pushrod for #3 intake. I know the pushrods come in different sizes so how can I tell what to replace it with? I can't measure it since it's bent and it seems that the others can all be different sizes. Any tips other than buy all sizes and check clearance with warm engine? It's been a long time since working on a non overhead cam engine.

Seems like it would be really easy to measure the rest of the pushrods and take the average and buy a replacement.
Quit overthinking it and buy a standard ball and ball replacement pushrod ...9.590

I agree with tnlprt. If there's no reason to think differently, a standard length should be fine. If (and only if) you know of previous work, measure and replace.
