Hi everyone! Looking for headers with the best fitment......I have read too much about having to "clearance" this and that to make them fit......I'd rather just pay a little more for ones that fit like a glove, if they even exist.....Anyone have any ideas? My truck is a bone stock 1971 302 3 on the tree with manual steering and brakes. It's time to make a little more noise!
Thanks in advance.
I am not sure, but I would say people like the sanderson's. Make sure they have at least a 3/8" flange. If you are not paying over 350.00 I would say you got a chep header that will give you fits down the road. IMO
I had Hedman Extreme Duty Headers I bought from summit and they worked good on my 68' truck. It was a tight fit and the end had to be tilted to get them in but they never gave me issues and had a very robust contraction. New they are around $450 which is on the upper end I think. My 72' will get the same ones once I get around to the engine rebuild down the road. Be sure your starter can take the heat from the exhaust- Powermaster makes a good one in my opinion.
