Hello I am in the process of pulling the engine to replace the front tranny seal. Now I noticed the nut where you adjust the band is leaking. It is just in front of the shift linkage on the tranny. It is a c6 out of a 78 f150.

That nut has a rubber seal on the back of it... If that is where the leak is, replacing the nut should fix it.

Also, be sure you have the adjustment procedure on hand (or mark the position very carefully) adjusting it properly requires an inch pound torque wrench.
