Side Rear View Mirrors - Question

Post by hmills »

Does anyone know if the side mirror for the 1973 F100 is the same as the side mirror for the 1971? Also this may be a dumb question but will one mirror fit either side (driver or passenger)? Where would one go to look up an original Ford part number? HMills

What kind of mirror are we talking about? The smaller sport mirrors or the larger West Coast style mirror?

All my 67s came with the smaller sport mirror like the ones for the Mustangs, but the ones sold by the suppliers are the larger ones. Not much bigger, but the heads look different as well.

the mirror on the driverside does not feel tight. it looks like it is missing the gasket. should there be a rubber gasket between the mirror and the door? if so where can i find one? thanks

They did have a flexible soft plastic gasket...I think Dennis Carpenter has them...Believe it or not, those sport mirrors have a plastichrome base,so they're not pitted if they're used...Ford used that same mirror on a lot of their 60's cars, falcons and mustangs, for sure...In fact the remote driver mirror set up on my '67 Mustang was the same as the one that was optional on the '71-72 Ford Rangers...
This is the point...I'm....talking about everybody! I'm talking about form! I'm talking about content! I'm talking about interrelationships! I'm talking about God, the devil, hell, heaven!!!! Do you understand???? Finally!!!!

Side Rear View Mirrors - Question

Post by hmills »

Does anyone know the difference between the following outside mirrors? Are the all the same mirrors just for different vehicles (car, truck, bronco?). Or are the all exactly the same just given different part numbers? I am looking for some for my 71 f100 and have found all three on ebay and the photos all look the same.
