Gaskets/ seals

Post by mdbaker42 »

Can anyone tell me where I can purchace the gaskets that reside behind the steering knuckel on my 1970 f-250 4x4? The owners manual says one is rubber and the other is felt. Napa can't seem to find them. Thanks.

I think they will be different between the dana44 and dana44HD. You should positively identifiy which axle you have. I have a 44hd under my truck and I was able to find those knuckle wiper seals from broncograveyard.com The regular dana44 front axle has smaller manual locking outer hubs and differnet size trunion bearings in the knuckle. the 44hd has much larger outer locking hubs and uses the same large size trunion bearing in the knuckle.
