My transmission (Ford o matic) has suddenly started leaking (slow seep) oil around where the speedo cable attaches. My old timer trans guy said "It happens." I thing im missing something. 287k miles no leak. Get a new exhaust and a leak starts. Is there any kind of seal in that area that I should look for? I'm guessing the exhaust guys took the cable off to move it out of the way. I know they secured it to the frame to stay off the exhaust.
How are you guys dealing with this type thing?

Re: trans leak at speedo cable
If I remember correctly there is a seal in the speedo gear adapter.
