Can I use a 1987 front end on a 1967 f250?

Post by icecreamman »

I have a 67 F250 with manual steering, i6 (cracked and repaired block) and manual brakes and a c6. I see a 1987 F150 with a 351 Windsor, power disc breaks, tilt power steering and a c6. I was wondering if I could use the 87 to upgrade the 67? A friend told me he thinks only 73-79 can be used.

Sure. Lotsa hot rodders have used "clips" off of various models to upgrade their rig. I recall one member used the clip off a Lincoln Continental on his F-series truck.

Cut the front frame assembly off that 87 and graft it to the 67. Fishplate and gusset as required. Other adapations will be required but I'm sure you've got that covered because that's the fun and easy stuff.
