Twin I Beam Evolution

Post by Francy Boy »

Hey, anyone know how the Twin I Beam suspension changed over the years? I'm under the impression that they remained the same for the most part (with some minor changes in kingpin sizes maybe?) at least until '79. Is that true? Was the design altered from 1980 forward?

Thanks for the help.

Yes it remained basically the same from 65-79. The differences are explained here :)

So if my 71 250 camper special already has disk brakes, would I be able to use dropped I beams from the newer (late 70's) trucks?
1971 F250 Camper Special, family owned since 1972
1983 Cherokee, last of the big ones, bought in Italy, family owned since 1998
1965 Corvair Corsa Convertible, 140 engine, 4 speed.
