Re: Source for 1972 f250 2wd flex o matic rear leaf springs
I am looking for a set myself.
I think LMC has them for $499 (you'll need the 2450lb springs). I called Eaton Detroit Springs, and while they are generally very good, they guy seemed completely unable to assist me, but it did seem like those would be in the neighborhood of $800 or more.
You can switch over to the non Flex-O-Matic setup, but you have to change spring perches (which are riveted on). Also, the standard springs will not have as good of a ride - the whole concept of the Flex-O-Matic is a longer spring (hence better ride) when not under load, and then when under load it engages an effective shorter spring for better load handling.

I've bought U-bolts and stuff from these guys but never bought springs from them. Always cooperative and good pricing. http://www.stengelbros.net/43-571-Ford- ... _3714.html

That is a GREAT price.
It is listed for 73-79 F-250. Are the bump sides the same rear spring for the Flex-O-Matic as the dent sides? If so, that is a killer deal.

Holly cow! I have the stock springs from my '67 and a set with the extra leaf and bonus bracket off a '72 donor truck. With that kind of price, I sure won't haul the 72's to the scrap yard if I don't use them.

Re: Source for 1972 f250 2wd flex o matic rear leaf springs
I just started looking into this.
These guys http://www.sdtrucksprings.com/index.php ... s_id=13464
have the F100 spring. They don't list the bump f250 2wd anywhere. And nothing says flexomatic or not, so i think you're SOL on that one.
The bump springs appear to be 2.25" wide and everything Dent and up is 2.5" Wide which is apparently standard for almost every car mfg ever.
Now here's where it gets interesting, a bit of poking around
the 4x4 'dent' spring also lists the same 2_1/4 width and is 'close enough' to match the F100 listed, but not flex-o-matic
http://www.sdtrucksprings.com/index.php ... ts_id=7791
The shackle could be pretty easily modified, fabricated or otherwise re-jiggered to accomodate the wider spring, but the perch is going to be tough.
I had thought, before finding that cheaper option there, I might try to cut down the eylet narrower, it would only be 1/8 off each side, doable with an angle grinder.

Re: Source for 1972 f250 2wd flex o matic rear leaf springs
Also, the website above, is kinda clunky and based on the fact that it never turned up the 4x4 spring when i searched for a bump in f-250, but did turn it up under dent, there is a pretty good chance they actually have the spring but their website just sucks.
Either way I'd call them and ask.
Also if someone does, is the 150ish prices quoted for a pair or each? The verbiage is somewhat ambiguous. If it is pair, i'm going to order some right away, that price is awesome, even if it is 'import' spring
