steering column

Post by wndsofchng06 »

So I've been planning on getting the tilt column out of a late 70's truck. Then I realized, that means there is a pesky ignition switch in the column. Other than spending a bunch of cash on a catalog column, is there some other option for a no key- tilt column?

"79 and earlier didn't have a key in the column, and tilt was available.

If you find one thats sloppy ,you can use some parts from the 70s car columns and repair it.

Van tilt columns are also good parts donors for a pickup column. Not all the parts will work, but most of them will.

Same with all columns. Variations in length with Bendix vs Saginaw vs power vs no power and combinations with each. Also wiring but that's easily reworked.
