'70-'72 FE Tstat housing
Hi. Anyone got one of these thermostat housings in good condition? I know many types will fit, but I'm looking for this type with the kinda "P" cast into the side where the port goes in the center of the "P". The bolt holes in the flange have a thin web connecting them to the main casting. or if you know where to get them new other than Mac's, which has the right picture but wrong part. Thanks. Patrick

You say thermostat housing, I say water inlet. The one on my engine was cracked and welded, so I simply replaced it with a new one from napa. It's probably not what you're looking for.
Cheers,
Duane

it looks like the one I replaced had the P shape you're looking for. Probably original.

Thanks Duane. You're right again. The one you took off is what I'm looking for, the original style with the "P" casting shape and the thin webs connecting the mounting holes The one you have now is also what I have. Why I care about tiny details like this on a rusty 44 year old truck I have no idea. Unfortunately I am cursed in this way!

Patrick,
Is this what you're looking for? This came off a 390. I have no use for it. It has the 'P' casting and the webs.
How's $15 + shipping?
It needs a good cleaning, but I don't see any cracks.
Let me know.

Flyboy, thats the correct one. Just sent you a PM.
Anyone else know what the device screwed into the port is? The ones I've seen just have that blanked off and mine had nothing for that slot. Patrick

I think it's the temperature sensor.
