Brake Booster, Firewall, grommet

Post by RussTalbot22 »

I am finally ready to reinstall my brake booster on my 1972 F-350, after being down for 3 years. I have forgot what fills the hole in the firewall. What covers the hole? The rubber boot from the booster, barely reaches the firewall and is not large enough anyway.

On my 69 there was a plastic boot that slid over the rubber boot . It looked like the rubber boot kelp the plastic one pushed up against the firewall. I did not have power brakes but was lucky to find a used booster that had that piece on it. I took it off and used it on my new booster.

The black plastic boot that goes between the booster and the firewall will look like the one in this photo.
