c6 transmission
i rebuilt a c6 trans should the transmission turn by hand and if so what could be the reason it want (other then gears) HELP please

I was just recently where you are now. Yes it should turn by hand. From my own mistakes, I would say your problem is one of two thing.
First is you don't have any end play in the assembled unit. There should be I think .020 - .040 of endplay. Once the front pump is installed and tightened, it will lock the assembly if there isn't any endplay. There are a couple selectable thrust washers that allow you to adjust end play. Likely cause is mistake in assembly where something isn't full seated. Back off the pump bolts and see if it frees up.
Other possibility is improperly installed bushings. If they are not install perfectly square, they will bind on the shaft. The sun gear has a bushing on each end. If one is out just a little, the error is multiplied over the length of the gear and will bind. See part 612 here:http://transpartsonline.com/tpfile/tpca ... rtsType=C6. If bushings are not pressed in far enough, it will eat up your end play and bind.
