Misplaced spring pockets

Post by CommrclDiver »

I'm in the process of rebuilding the front suspension in the project truck and I seem to have misplaced the spring pockets and hardware
I don't suppose anyone might have a set of front spring pockets with hardware for a 2WD laying around somewhere they might be willing to part with? :D I see a few on broncograveyard.com but they all seem to be for 4-wheel drive models.

Ok, according to the part numbers on this diagram I need:

Bolt 374479-S (BB-203-G)
Nut 34982-S (M-89-HA)
Lower spring perch 5A307
Lower spring retainer 5A349
Nut 34982-5 (M-89-HA)

That diagram is awesome! Thank you!

I replaced my large bolts and nuts on those with new Grade 8 yellow zinc plated ones from McMaster Carr. Don't remember the specific size but they didn't have the original length, had to order about 1/4" longer but the worked fine with a washer under the head. Ordered fine thread with obround lock nuts.

Bolt 374479-S (BB-203-G) Similar to these (check lengths) http://www.mcmaster.com/#92620A880

And these to replace the below (actually should be same nut) http://www.mcmaster.com/#90636A080
Nut 34982-S (M-89-HA)
Nut 34982-5 (M-89-HA)

I measured the bolt that I can find and it looks like it is 6.5" long and .750" in diameter. It looks like I can get a partial thread fastener with those dimensions from McMaster-Carr but I'm afraid that the thread length is not going to be long enough. I can get a 6" bolt that is all thread and by what it looks like it would be just long enough but I would feel much more comfortable with a little more thread sticking out.
