German guy is looking for power steering parts

Post by nashkicker »

Hi there,

I am working on a f-100 2WD, automatic transmission, from 1967 and looking for some parts. To upgrade from manual to power steering I need a gear box and a steering column for power steering.

As it is quite difficult to find fitting parts in Germany I hope you guys can help me out. I am grateful for any offer or hint where I should look otherwise. If you can't ship internationally I also have a contact in the US where you can ship to. Otherwise, I sure will take over the international shipping costs.

Can you specify which steering gear you will be seeking - bendix or saginaw. Additionally, there were two lengths of steering columns from the 1967-72 era, I believe.
I do have a longer steering column for an automatic available. I was told it came off of a truck with power steering. I am doing the same conversion and will be using the shorter column with a saginaw steering gear.
It's not in the greatest of shape, but rebuildable.
Will you be needing power steering pump and bracket and cooler?

Hi hillcountryflt,

Thank you for your answer.

Actually I only need a fitting set of a steering column and gear box. I have no preferences if it is a bendix or saginaw. As I have a 5.0 HO enginge from a Lincoln '91 I will use its pump & bracket and will build up a new cooler.

Can you send me a pic of your spare parts? What kind of column is it?

Cheers.

the column I have is from a 1969 F100 (I am told) with automatic and I believe a bendix style ps gear. It is longer than the one I am going to use. Will get a picture tonight or over the weekend.

I have a rebuilt Saginaw steering box from a 69 f100.

While I would ship, it's very heavy. Pm if interested.
