Need plastic boot between firewall and brake booster

Post by patrickdotryan »

Hi guys, anyone got an OEM ''71 brake booster BOOT that goes from the back of the power brake booster to the firewall? It should be a black plastic tube, semi rigid and kind of stepped down as per several photos in this post:

http://www.fordification.com/forum/view ... p?p=404877

I know lots of things will WORK there, such as the rubber bellows style one I already have, coke cans etc, but I am looking for the old style correct one.

Thanks all.

FordTruck or others. I know lots of you guys have a stockpile of old parts. I'd love it if you could have a look and see if you've got one of these boots. Want to out my brakes back! Patrick

You guys know I like to close the loop for future visitors. I ended up finding this part on an almost picked clean truck in a local junkyard. Turns out that the part is kind of an off white semi-opaque kind of plastic. The ones I've seen photos of were all black. But at least in the '71 that I got it from, it had some black paint sprayed on the top and underside, but looked like from the factory that it may have never been fully painted. In fact it may not have been painted at all because the junk truck I got it from was black and the paint on this part may have been overspray from a firewall touch up at some point. Couldn't tell where this truck was built but from the rust I doubt it was California.
