2WD TO 4WD

Post by tommy6386 »

here is my plan..I have a 1970 f350 2wd chassis I bought a 1971 f250 4x4 chassis which ended up having 1978 axles and transfer case under it, my question is has anyone done something like this? if so ( or not) what kind of issues do you think I'm going to have converting it? thanks!

That's not a plan... that's an idea.

What is the idea any way?... it's not clear. A body swap? Or fit the axles to the 2wd?

Typical issues are the 2wd crossmember and steering. More research to do on your end. Good luck.

ok to make things more clear.... I have a 1970 f350 2wd chassis that I am putting a 1967 f100 cab and bed on...I bought a 1971 f250 4x4 that rand and drove, frame is trashed, cut up, modified, trash, upon research found that the axles are out of a 1978, I am going to put them on the 1970 chassis, just wondering if any one has converted a 2wd to 4wd with this set up and ideas on how to do it the best..thanks :?

it would be easier to find a 4x4 f250 frame and bolt your 67 body onto it.
