Question regarding the T18 and NP435 4 speed´s

Post by Andresito »

Dear folks,

I´m in the process of interchanging parts between a 1975 F150 (360 v8 + T18 4 speed) and a 1978 F350 (400 v8 + NP435 4 speed).

Is it possible to interchange shifters between the T18 and the NP435?

Thanks a lot for your help!

No the t18 cap screws on. The np435 twists and pushes into the top. I have no idea if the tops and stuff will interchange.

Thank you very much for your reply. As far as the schematics show, the shifter cane on both the T18 and NP435 look pretty similar.
I think the best bet is to unbolt both and try it out.

You may be able to take the cane apart and swap parts to use the other cane.
