AOD transmission shift linkage???

Post by canadiancobra »

I am installing a 5.0efi and aod trans into my 72. I've located a auto column but am wondering if anyone had done a aod conversion and can give me some direction as far as what I require to connect the column to the transmission? Will linkage from a c4 or c6 work? Thanks john

I used the linkage rod from a C6 on mine, but it had to lengthen it, if I remember right about 2 1/2". The shifter arm on the transmission also needs to be longer. I reworked the factory parts on mine, but Lokar makes the linkage and the arm. here is a link at what then make.

Glad I read this thread. They make a linkage to support the c4 as well. That was one of the missing pieces in my conversion from a 3 speed manual to a c4 auto on my 71 f100.
