jeep axle is drum brake 8.8 is disc around me the second you say (jeep) parts the price goes up

Because its cheap and parts are plentiful and it's got tons of aftermarket support and beefy add-ons because it's off road following.
Plus it's about the same width needed for stock or with a cv swap.
Also you can run zj disc on it for a disc brake setup.
