Folks,
I'm trying to sort out my my truck isn't running like a racecar, and I realized I'm missing a bit of knowledge.
I've got a 360 with a C6.
The vacuum tube that runs from the intake manifold, what does it lead to? What does it do? How would my vehicle behave if that part wasn't working properly?
Thanks,
Duane

Re: Rookie transmission question
Hi Duane--
I think you're referring to the trans. 'vacuum modulator' If it's messed up, your tranny may not shift correctly, maybe not go low or high gear, etc.
Is that the kind of issue you're having?
If so, before you buy a modulator: Check that vacuum line carefully: Is it deteriorated? Does it connect snugly to the manifold and the modulator? Does it feel squishy--like it's possibly collapsing? *Edit: also ensure that it isn't plugged or kinked*
I'd replace the vac line first, then see how she runs.
Good luck!
