FE 2 groove power steer crank pulley

Post by patrickdotryan »

Hi All, I have a '71 390 reuild and am looking for the 2 groove crankshaft pulley for just waterpump/fan/alt and factory power steering. I believe the part number is C8AZ-6A312-C (sometimes called C8AE-6312-C also I think). It is the one on the far left in this photo. I have a 4 groove setup (1 groove plus 3 groove for the A/C that I removed) to trade if need be.

Thanks,
Patrick

I will check and see what I have lying around, but it will most likely be after Elk HUnting Season! :) Like Mid-November.

i have one i'm pretty sure but i need to know exactly what you are looking for. are you looking for a pulley with an inner sheave and a blank and an outer sheave. the same width as a 3 sheave pulley but with 2 pulleys on it.. one inside and one outside?

Hi Jim,

Thanks. I'm looking for C8AZ-6A312-C / C8AE-6312-C and the closest eyeball I can give you is in the photo above (leftmost pulley) I don't know the total depth of the whole pulley assembly or casting, but you're correct, it is a larger sheave closer to the motor (for the fan/water pump/alternator) then a space (maybe 1/2" - 3/4"?), then a slightly smaller sheave (for the p/s) closer to the radiator. The pulley diameters I pasted from the pulley parts page on this site are as follows.

#C8AE-6312-C - double sheave
6-21/32" large pulley dia.
6" small pulley diameter
Inner pulley uses 3/8" belt
Outer pulley uses 1/2" belt

My motor is sitting waiting for this part, so I would love it if you had one. I assume they're pretty common as they go on lots of motors, just probably most don't have 'em lying around.

Cheers, Patrick
