Aside from my 71 F250 4x4 I have a 71 Ranchero GT. Having trouble with the transmission in the Ranchero. 351C with a C4. Was driving...everything normal. Came to a light...put car in neutral....car still pulling forward. Car runs perfect through all gears forward. Pulls forward in neutral, reverse sort of pulls both ways, park is pulling forward too...of course park pin keeps it from moving ahead. Car starts now and immediately pulls ahead......engine hard to start as pulling transmission.
Did clear up once......like something un-stuck....and worked fine. Drove for awhile and pulling forward again in neutral and park.... Stuck like that now. So seems to me like something is stuck....then can unstick and work fine.
I'm thinking it's a valve body issue. Read a post on another site that talks about the exact same thing on an older C4. Said it was the main pressure regulator valve sticking.
Anyone got any ideas?????
Thanks

Re: C4 Pulling forward in neutral and park
Has water ever gotten into the fluid? This can cause the clutch material to start flaking off and wedging itself into things.
